Customer, driver, and vehicles

Just below the billing date, you will see a row containing four drop-down buttons. Here, you need to select the related customer, driver, and vehicles.

Selecting a customer is mandatory. If the ride is meant to be performed for your organization and there is no third party involved, you need to add your organization to the list of customers.

You can define a set of hourly rates for every customer. As soon as you select a particular customer, OneTruck will automatically enter the hourly rates of the selected customer. Of course, you can override the hourly rates of each service if needed.

While selecting the driver and vehicles, OneTruck will ensure that you have not assigned a driver or a vehicle to more than one service at a time. OneTruck will also automatically count the working hours of the selected driver as soon as you create a service or make any changes to it.

For the driver, truck, and trailer, you can select an existing entry or select the "custom" option. The custom option allows you to type a name instead of existing entries. This option is useful if you are using a borrowed driver or a vehicle and won't use them in other services.

Please note that when you select the “Custom” option, OneTruck will no longer check that entry for overlapping with other services. Also, OneTruck will not count the driving hours toward a custom driver, even if the custom driver has the exact same name as one of your registered drivers.

For example, you may have a registered driver named John Doe. If you try to save two services at the same time for the registered John Doe, OneTruck will prevent you from saving the second service and will count the first service toward the working hours of the registered John Doe. However, if you manually enter a custom “John Doe” there will be no check (you can save multiple services for the custom John Doe at the same time) and the saved services will not be counted toward the salary of the registered John Doe.
